Lagg Distillery is located at the southern end of the Isle of Arran and produces a range of heavily peated, modern and characterful Single Malt Whiskies. Production started in 2019, with the first recorded cut of spirit made on the 19th March of that year.
Batch 2 – Twice distilled as Batch 1, the spirit for this release was matured in first fill, ex-bourbon casks for 30 months and then finished for 6 months prior to release in 55L ex-Oloroso sherry Firkin casks, made especially for the Lagg Distillery. This expression is un-chill filtered and bottled without added colour.
Nose: Smouldering camp fire, milk chocolate, dried fruit, and dark chocolate.
Palate: Peat smoke blends with butterscotch, dried fruit and nutmeg.
Finish: Lingering smoke, mild astringency and West Indies spices.
