Kilchoman’s Small Batch bottlings are all about experimentation – using specially selected casks at barrel strength to add added layers of flavour and intensity. The Small Batch Releases for selected markets began in 2019, as a Machir Bay vatting or Machir Bay Collaborative Vatting (a whisky with 46% alcohol strength, which was previously matured for approx. 5 years predominantly in Bourbon barrels and 5-15% in Oloroso sherry casks). This vatting is then married with an additional “special cask” … in this case an STR cask (shaved, toasted & re-charred ex-Red Wine Cask. The proportions of the individual casks in this expression are given as: 75 % Bourbon, 5 % Oloroso sherry and 20 % STR.
Nose: Classic Kilchoman nose with sweet, citrus notes, a familiar peat smoke balanced with elegant fruit-forward tones.
Palate: Toasted oak notes open up for a cascade of raisin and fig combined with a hint of nuttiness.
Finish: Long, with lingering sea-salty peat smoke. Spices vie for predominance.

Returns
The stock is constantly changing and cannot be fully controlled by us because of the involvement of many parties including the factory and our warehouse. The actual stock can be changed at any time. It is possible that your order will be out of stock once your order has been made.
The period of time is 30 days. If thirty days have passed since you purchased your item, we will not be able to offer you a return or exchange.
Your item should be in its original packaging and not be used. It should also be in the original packaging.
