Crafted and distilled in Calgary, Alberta, Alberta Premium Cask Strength Rye is made from 100% Canadian Prairie rye grains grown by local farmers and distilled with nutrient-dense, glacier fed spring water from the surrounding Rocky Mountains. A blend of pot still and column still distillation, it is aged in heavily charred (#4) first fill ex-bourbon barrels from the Jim Beam distillery, along with virgin oak barrels and second fill bourbon barrels.
Nose: Oaky sweetness with prominent vanillans.
Palate: Notes of vanilla toffee and a hint of milk chocolate contrasts with the rye spiciness and stone fruits on the back palate.
Finish: Long finish with the complex flavours from the palate carrying through until the end.
